Buxton Pavilion Gardens Wedding

This was a total trip down memory lane for me, as Hazel and I married at The Pavilion Gardens in Buxton 17 years ago – and Buxton is one of those time capsule Derbyshire towns that doesn’t seem to change. It’s got this perfect mix of natural beauty, history, and a really friendly, relaxed vibe. You’ve got the dramatic hills and moorlands just minutes away, but right in town there’s so much character — the Georgian and Victorian architecture is gorgeous, especially places like the Crescent and the Pavilion Gardens.

The Pavilion Gardens is a big beautifully kept Victorian park right in the heart of town, with winding paths, ornamental lakes, and loads of open space to wander or just sit and people-watch. The gardens are gorgeous in every season — spring flowers, summer picnics, autumn colours, even frosty winter walks all feel a bit magical there.

Then there’s the Pavilion itself — a stunning glass-and-iron building that gives the whole place a classic, old-world feel. Inside, you’ve got cafés, little independent shops, art exhibitions, and often live music or local events.

Katie & Craig opted to get married in The Orangery for their Buxton Pavilion Gardens Wedding (this was our backup plan, as Hazel and I chose to marry in the Bandstand, which turned out to be quite a public scene!) , surrounded by plants and fish swimming around an ornamental pond. Katie got prepared over the road at No 6 Tearooms, and then everyone headed back to the Tearooms for a relaxed Soiree.

If you want relaxed, documentary wedding photography for your event please get in touch and tell me about your plans.
