35mm Analogue Film Family Photography

THE FAMILY MONOGRAPH

Documentary Family Photography shot on a mix of digital and analog 35mm film

Every family is a unique work of art. Why not have photos that do that justice?

Creative documentary photography shot on 35mm analog film and digital. Capturing real family life in my warm, scuzzy signature style around Derbyshire and The Peak District.

For over 15 years I’ve photographed weddings and families of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds. I’m a member of the Family Photojournalist Association, Lifestyle Wedding Photographers Association and have experience with neurodivergent children and Derbyshire LGBT+ accreditation.

But most importantly; for the better part of two decades I’ve been a parent. I’ve lived wholeheartedly through the wonder, the discovery, the laughter, the meltdowns, the mess and the knowledge that all this fades away far too quickly.

Inspired by street photography, cinema and the classic work of photographers like Sally Mann and Alain Laboile –  I bring an artistic eye to highlight the magic of the everyday.

Analog Family Photography

The Art of Imperfection

Embracing the Chaos

Real family life is messy and fast. It deserves more than sterile, clinically sharp digital pixels. I shoot 35mm film because it embraces reality—grain, motion blur, warm light, and deep, unpredictable shadows included.

The Language of Memory

Film requires patience. But there is magic in the slow process and the anticipation of waiting for a roll to come back. Film has a texture that digital simply cannot replicate. It feels like a memory, because for so long, it has been the visual language of our stories.

THE PACKAGES

The simplicity and clarity of digital. Or the worn in nostalgic vibes of analog film – how are we going to capture your memories?

Where Family Sessions Happen

Your session can take place anywhere that feels like your family.

Common choices include:

  • Your home

  • Local parks

  • Woodland walks

  • Favourite weekend spots

Living in Derbyshire means we’re surrounded by incredible places. The Peak District is a playground –  from quiet parks to wild countryside.

But the best location is always wherever your family feels most like themselves.

Do you travel?

Yes, I travel outside East Midlands and The Peak District at cost and love an adventure.

What Happens During a Session?

We’ll pick something your family enjoys doing together — a walk, baking, playing in the garden, flying a kite.

Then I’ll quietly document it.
