Carriage Hall Wedding Photographer

I've been lucky enough to shoot many Weddings at the Carriage Hall in Plumtree

A versatile wedding venue for all seasons

The Carriage Hall – as the name suggests – is a renovated Victorian railway building in the Nottinghamshire countryside.

Despite its simple set up, every wedding I’ve photographed at The Carriage Hall has felt completely different. It really is a versatile venue, and I always believe that’s because the staff at The Carriage Hall go out of their way to make each wedding what the couple wants.

Over the years we’ve had Christmas weddings, a blessing in January with over 200 guests (this was amazingly packed, but great fun), Summer and spring weddings. A couple of images (including the one at the top) were shot helping fellow photographer Dan Lambourne when he broke his foot playing football. Each time the venue has molded itself around the event and personality of the couple.

And the food at The Carriage Hall is also wonderful. (It should be noted)

At the Carriage Hall, the wedding ceremony happens in the grand converted railway building. The light is georgous whatever time of year – but the photographer also has freedom to move and get views from the balcony which help add to the story.

The Carriage Hall has plenty of places to go for a quiet ten minutes to grab some photos of the two of you together.

Whether it’s taking advantage of the beautiful grounds or sneaking off to The Shepards Huts – there’s always a great location for some relaxed couple photos.

Carriage Hall in Plumtree, Nottinghamshire, is a beautiful venue for events and weddings. If you’re looking for accommodation nearby, here are a few options:

  1. The Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel: Located in the nearby village of Radcliffe-on-Trent, this boutique hotel offers luxury accommodation with elegant rooms and excellent dining options.
  2. The Nottingham Belfry Hotel: Situated in Nottingham, this contemporary hotel is a bit farther away but offers modern amenities and comfortable rooms, perfect for a relaxing stay.
  3. Holme Pierrepont Hall: This historic house is not only a beautiful wedding venue but also offers bed and breakfast accommodation in stunning surroundings.
  4. East Bridgford Hill: A quirky and charming Georgian country house with eclectic decor, offering bed and breakfast accommodation and just a short drive from Plumtree.
  5. The Walton Hotel: Located in a peaceful residential area of Nottingham, this boutique hotel offers stylish rooms and a tranquil setting for a restful stay.
  6. The Poplars: Situated in the nearby village of Holme Pierrepont, this cozy bed and breakfast offers comfortable rooms and a warm welcome from the hosts.

With so much space (both indoors and out) wedding receptions at The Carriage Hall come together really well. I have even seen over 200 guests squeezed into a January vow renewal, so it’s certainly built for a good party.

It is a great venue for dancing the night away to a band or DJ whilst your guests join you or watch from the first floor balcony.
