The Value of Photography

Parent Visit July FB-018 kooks sl I was contacted last night by a client who’s mother had passed away. I had done a family shoot for them last year, and they had misplaced the USB.

Sometimes, I’ll have to admit, I question whether what I do has any real value or merit, but it’s times like this that it brings it all home

So what am I going to take from this personally? I’m going to make sure I make time to get photos of the people I love, and that I store them safely and regularly print stuff (nothing is as secure as printing – I can’t imagine most of this technology being accessible in ten years time)

And to carry on doing what I love –  and to value it more, because everything is transient.

(The picture is Felix with his grandad, who’s still with us)
