Goldstone Hall Wedding Photography – Jus & Wes

Bride and groom walk down the aisle at snowy Goldstone Hall on a winters day. So – this is the last wedding of 2017 (I may blog a couple previous to this, as there have been some good ones!) – this is one of my favourite photos of the year, as Jus and Wes emerge from the Oak Pavilion at Goldstone Hall to all their friend and family. There’s still snow on the roof and the definate feel of christmas just round the corner. It’s a simple moment and one of pure happiness.

I could say a lot more… but I’m going to let the pictures do the talking.

Bring on 2018

High House Farm Brewery – A very Newcastle Wedding

Same sex wedding at High House Farm Brewery

There is nothing ordinary about this wedding. Gemma and Alaina got married…. but that might be about it. Two brides in country gentleman attire.. cricket, beer on a very windy late October day somewhere north of Newcastle…

High House Farm Brewery, to be exact- which is actually a brewery as well as a wedding venue – and is just a stones throw away from Hadrian’s Wall (which we probably would have paid a visit to if the freezing winds weren’t trying to blow us inside out).

Gemma was my little sisters best friend when they were at school – she was also a bridesmaid at our wedding. For those of you who’ve followed the blog for several years – I also shot Gemma’s sister Emily’s wedding a couple of years ago.

And you’ll see my little sister Heather both giving a speech and dancing with my little neice, Juno

Bride and Groom Laughing at Iscoyd Park Wedding Reception

Apologies for the lack of posts – we moved house and it’s all been a bit hectic post wedding season. But I’m coming back with some stunning wedding photography from Iscoyd Park in Shropshire.

It  was one of those days where it rained all day (Iscoyd park is a Georgian country house wedding venue surrounded by gorgeous countryside – s0 you can imagine the disappointment) – but that wasn’t bringing the mood down. You can tell from the photos that it was an emotional ceremony held in the garden room. Followed by a huge party including mealtime entertainment from Main Course – Singing Waiters and a couple of chances to nip off for some portraits in the stunning library.

It was a beautiful day – and there was loads of music and love in the air – but did I mention how much it rained? I drove all 70 miles home at about 20 miles per hour because of the sheer amount of water coming from the sky…

Guests outside the church

Wedding – St Albans Church, Chaddesden
Reception – Osmaston Park

I had serious deja vu at this wedding – I’d photographed Joanna’s sister, Lizzie’s, wedding at Callow Hall two years previously.

The preparations, the church, a lot of the faces are all very familiar. In a way it was interesting to see how far I’d come – how my style had changed in those two years. I think even now, I’m getting a lot better at nailing the moment I want to get!

Joanna & Scott married on a beautiful sunny day with a wedding reception at Osmaston Park near Ashbourne. Surrounded by lakes and woodlands in the private location they were free to celebrate with family and friends.

So these are the pictures – and there’s a real sense of family, friendship and fun throughout.

“We’ve looked at these SO MANY TIMES and I just can’t tell you how happy we are with them. You’ve captured the mood, the colours and pretty much every single guest. They’re exactly what we wanted – thank you so much.

Everyone we’ve shown them to has praised them to the skies! We’ll recommend you to everyone we know who’s getting married

Please could you also pass our thanks to Kathryn? It really shows how worth it it is to have two photographers because you captured lots ofdifferent angles so well.”

Wedding & Reception – The West Mill, Darley Abbey

I never feel that words really do the wedding justice. So what was special about this one? I think the deep bond that Emma & John have really shines through. The fact that Emma was so nervous until she met with John at the ceremony. Speaks volumes (you can really see the nerves in the pre-ceremony photo)

It was great to have Kathryn Edwards Photography shooting with me on the day. A second photographer adds so much more coverage and adds a whole new dimension to the wedding day.

I’ve been dying to get inside The West Mill – based in Darley Abbey Mills it’s an old industrial warehouse that has been converted into floor after floor of lusciousness. This was my first wedding there, but I’m already looking forward to the next few.
