I tend to approach everything I photograph in the same way - with a sort of wild eyed wonder and a need for the picture to make an emotional connection.
I like moods and emotions and feelings and reality. And it's in that reality I believe the true magic lies.
I love weddings because they're a microcosm of life. Intimacy and substance is far more important to me than "having a style" - (in fact... it's probably the only thing that really makes a style.)
It's simple, authentic and creative. And it's never the same twice.
I grew up in an artistic family, surrounded by music and art and crafts. So I think it was inevitable I’d end up doing something artistic. However, I only discovered photography about 2009, after our own wedding.
I’m inspired by movies, music and street photography and like to do things a little differently. I’m more interested in people and psychology than shoes and flowers (If you got this far, you’d probably worked that out)
I currently live in Mickleover, with my wife, three children and a cat.

HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?
Get in touch and we can talk about your plans and you can get more of an idea if I'm the right photographer for you. If I am, then a 25% booking fee holds your date.
DO YOU HOLD DATES?
I'm afraid I don't, as I often have several people wanting the same date, the fairest way to do it is on a first come, first serve basis.
HOW MANY PHOTOS DO YOU TAKE?
Loads... but I only edit ones that really work to save from unflattering expressions and duplicates. A whole wedding day will yield between 300-600 great photos - depending on how much happens!
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I use Fuji cameras, because they're small, discreet and allow me to be light on my feet throughout the whole day. I use prime lenses because they allow me to work in dark locations and I avoid using flash wherever possible - because I believe the light (whatever it's doing) is part of the ambience of the day.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Yes. I'm a full time photographer and like to be fully covered.
WHAT IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT ON THE DAY?
If I'm really ill, or in an accident - I have a large network of photographers I can call on in an emergency.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE?
It's sort of documentary / reportage. I do like to use black and white for the more emotive shots (which is why so many are in my portfolio), but I'm a big fan of colour photography too.
WE'D LIKE SOME GROUP SHOTS - IS THIS SOMETHING YOU DO?
I take formal group pictures at about half the weddings I cover. I usually advise between 5-10 otherwise the day starts turning into a long photoshoot whilst the guests eyes start glazing over.
WHEN DO WE GET OUR PHOTOGRAPHS?
Usually 4-5 weeks after the wedding (although this may be a couple of weeks longer in peak season)
